The movie is about a child who has problems with
reading and writing because he has dyslexia. In the first part of the movie, it
shows a kid who doesn’t pay attention in class. He is absent-minded and seems
irresponsible, but later we understand that he has difficulties due to his
condition and that these challenges contribute to his behavior.
The story begins with the child going to school as
usual. He receives his exam results, but nothing remarkable happens. After
school, he returns to his neighborhood and takes a small fish to put into the
fish tank at home. At home, he is about to eat a sandwich, but his mom doesn’t
allow him because he hasn’t washed his hands. However, the kid ignores her and
eats anyway. Later, he goes outside and finds some dogs, taking care of them
and sitting with them.
Some children nearby are playing with a ball. They ask
him to throw it, and he does, but the ball lands in another yard. A taller and
older boy demands that he retrieve it, but the dyslexic child refuses to
comply. The older boy yells at him, starting a fight. When the main character
sees that he’s losing, he runs away and returns home. At home, he hears
yelling—it turns out it’s the family of the child he fought with, and they’re
complaining to his parents. His father becomes angry, scolds him, and even slaps
him.
The next day, the father goes to work. At school, the
teacher reprimands the boy for not doing his homework and sends him out of the
classroom. While outside, he hears laughter from the other students, who mock
him for constantly getting into trouble. After class, his best friend tells him
not to worry, as he too didn’t do the homework for the next class.
Later, the main character skips school to explore and
wander around. When he gets home, he tells his brother about the amazing
adventure he had and asks him to forge an excuse note so he can keep skipping
school. His brother reluctantly agrees, and the boy presents the forged note to
the teacher. However, his plan backfires when the teacher gives them a surprise
exam.
The following day, the father returns home from work
(after being away for a few days) and finds the forged note in the boy's
belongings. He becomes furious and scolds his son. Later, the parents visit the
school to speak with the teachers about his poor academic performance. The
principal suggests enrolling the boy in a special school. Back at home, the
father contacts a friend who works at a boarding school to confirm a spot for
his son.
The next day, the father takes the boy to the new
school. In tears, the boy begs not to be sent there, but his father doesn’t
listen. That night, the boy has a nightmare in which his mother abandons him at
a train station. He wakes up in distress but is soon taken to the boarding
school.
At the new school, the dyslexic boy befriends the best
student in the class, who is assigned to sit next to him to serve as a positive
influence. However, in class, the boy struggles to pay attention. When the
teacher asks him to explain the lesson, he becomes confused and is punished
with a ruler on his hand. In Spanish class, he feels overwhelmed because the
teacher explains the material too quickly.
Frustrated by his inability to succeed, he throws his
books and bag in class. He starts seeing the letters as spiders and is
ridiculed by both his classmates and the teacher. During a family visit, the
boy isolates himself, refusing to see anyone, and later runs through the fields
to clear his mind.
One day, a new teacher arrives at the school and shows great care and understanding for the boy. This teacher organizes a drawing competition, which the boy wins. His parents feel immensely proud of him, and the boy begins to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
